Water is a problem and most of the women here have to travel distances of at least 2kms to fetch drinking water.

Most of them rely on boreholes and wells which unfortunately are allocated far and some have collapsed and run dry.

Some of the knitters with the little money they get from knitting have managed to build proper wells on their homesteads and others have managed to acquire bigger storing cans to help ease the burden of walking the long distances to the borehole every day.

All of the images and knitterā€™s stories are forwarded to us by Stella, the Knit for Life manager in Zimbabwe
